About me-

Consultant Paediatrician, NHS England

This platform is a humble attempt to share my own learning in paediatrics and clinical medicine, while also learning from all of you. I strongly believe that education is a two-way journey, and meaningful learning happens when knowledge is shared openly.

Clinical medicine is a fascinating discipline. From history-taking and examination to diagnosis and management, it is not merely a set of skills but an art. In recent years, there has been a noticeable decline in emphasis on fundamental clinical approaches. While artificial intelligence and technology are rapidly transforming medicine—and undoubtedly offer significant benefits—I believe there is no true substitute for strong basic clinical skills.

Through this platform, I hope we can continue to reinforce and rediscover these essential clinical foundations, so that we can provide better care for our patients.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my teachers, colleagues, friends, and family, and to all of you who visit this platform—because I will continue to learn from you as well. Paediatric Basics is a journey, and your contributions, feedback, and shared experiences are invaluable.

Please feel free to offer your honest feedback on any aspect of this platform. Your suggestions will help it grow and improve. But not just feedback please contribute your knowledge and experiences.

What we aim to do

  • Discuss a wide range of clinical scenarios and learn from each of them.

  • Develop a systematic clinical approach to common and important paediatric conditions.

  • Understand the appropriate clinical use and interpretation of investigations, and related aspects of patient care.

  • Use video-based learning—available on our YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/Paediatricbasics)—as it allows clearer explanation and easier integration with this website.

Thank you once again for being here.
Wishing you all the very best.
